A vernacular class room in Guinea next to a new one built with modern materials. Both positioned east-west correctly, and the new one has open class rooms to ventilate properly. But the roof overhangs are far too shallow to help with shading. The structure is also built of concrete, not sand cement blocks which insulate better. A Lack of vernacular sensitivity is further cause for concern - how does this new building teach a Guinean about his culture? Interesting to see positive and negative examples of a school design next to each other.
